Focus: Cardiorespiratory fitness/ Cardiovascular health

Equipment: Chair/band and bodyweight

Structure: 6 x 5min blocks of continuous exercise (1 – 2min rest) or 10 x 3min blocks (30s – 1min rests). Class will be graded according to fitness level of clients

• You will be supported to exercise in a safe, inclusive and friendly environment
• Incorporate standing and seated exercises
• Managing muscular and joint conditions
• 1-hour class

Educational Component:
• Be educated on the importance of Cardiorespiratory Fitness and Cardiovascular health
• Strategies to do cumulative and incidental exercises
Activities that are fun and have Cardiovascular benefits (e.g. dancing, walking, cycling)
• Be educated on the Rate of Perceived Exertion scale
• Ensure you are working at the right intensity for the current fitness level

• Include breathing techniques
• Incorporate exercises to help improve foot health, proprioception and balance
• 1-hour class

Importance of nasal breathing for humidification/filtration and oxygen uptake
• Balance: base of support and centre of gravity
• Exercises to improve the somatosensory, vestibular and visual systems

Equipment: Chair, TheraBand & Towel

Structure: Mobility components to prepare the body for exercise, Functional strength training, Mobility component to relax and align the body

Exercise Physiologists from Healthy Connections providing exercises to relax and align the body, improve your muscular and joint conditions.

About this class:
• You will be supported to exercise in a safe, inclusive and friendly environment
• Seated and standing mobility and strength-based exercises
• Managing muscular and joint conditions
• The class will be 1 hour 

Educational Component:
Movement nutrition - the body needs exposure to tension/compression to grow strong and durable
Understand intensity and correct sets/reps/frequency for your current fitness level
Importance of sleep for synaptic connections and muscle repair
• Chairs and posture
Strategies to break up sitting time and adapt your work/home environments to improve mobility (i.e. sitting on the floor when watching a movie or stand-up desks)
